Please forgive me for not updating you as frequently as of late. It's because things have been hopping!
(1) We are receiving boxes and more boxes. Filled with bunnies and stuffed softies...all sorts of crafting materials...books and eyeglasses and scissors and other tools.
(2) The contributions are still going up up up. We will update you of the current total over there on the top right sidebar.
(3) Projects and trips are being planned. We have pretty much confirmed the building of our first home. This one for Elcy and her 5 children. Shhhh...don't tell her. It's going to be a surprise (but they say she's starting to get a little suspicious). So somewhere in the first part of May, my husband (and possibly son) and I will be traveling back to Haiti. The boys to join the house-building team, and I to spend every possible minute with the ladies, distributing supplies, teaching new skills, planning the future. I'm so thrilled to be going back, so thrilled. I keep having to pinch myself.
So pause for a moment.
And think about this . . .
If it weren't for you, Elcy's future would continue to be living with her 5 children in this mud home (not even hers, she had to move in with another family).
If you hadn't sent us that piece of jewelry you made, or if you hadn't purchased that art item in our etsy shop, or if you had just let someone else care...Elcy would be stuck.
Here's a photo of Elcy crafting at the mission. I just love a girl who has fun with her crafting, don't you?
And don't you also love when ideas become reality? So, so many of you have contacted me and said how much you admire what I am doing. Well dear girls do not admire me, I'm not that special. I could never do what I am doing if you all weren't behind me. And you have been, every single step of the way.
I cannot stop saying thank you because I cannot stop feeling it.
You dear friends on the other side of this screen...you are building a home for a wonderful, beautiful, deserving woman. In May! This May!
It's real. Pinch yourself.

Look at those beautiful teeth!!!
I want to hug her.
So excited about all of it :)

That is gorgeous joy if ever I saw it. Thank you for having the vision, Miss Rebecca and for inviting us to play a part in the success of these women. Truly making a difference, that is what it is all about. Enjoy the day! Erin

I can't believe it! Elcy is getting a home to raise her 5 children in...it just doesn't get any better than this! Thank you Rebecca for making Elcy a heart priority. I will have to think up something as a house warming gift for her. Bless your heart!
