Over $11,000......wow! And still climbing. There is much we can do in Haiti with $11,000.
Here are some projects we're in planning stages for: Homes for two of the women (Elcy and Madam Philemon). Sending one or two of the women to the language institute to learn English. Beginning the considerations for building a women's center/safe house in Despinos. So much we can do...because of you!
Update on the supply drives...oh. my. goodness. Box after glorious box. Formal thank-you's are coming to each of you, so please don't think me rude if I haven't thanked you yet. Just know that each and every box is appreciated and will be much cherished by the women. I can't wait to share all the supplies with them!
The rains have begun. Please keep the Haitians in your thoughts and prayers. Much more damage is being caused by the rains. Now in Port au Prince they are living under tarps in the mud. Living there.
Home.
The word that brings peace and comfort and memories for many of us. It's something everyone deserves.
There are five pieces of art by two lovely and talented art friends of mine that I've listed in the Haiti by Hand etsy shop this morning. These pieces are especially significant for our friends in Haiti. They are all about home and strength and support. And the money brought in from these pieces will go a long way toward giving these Haitian women just those things.
Three stunning garlands by Tracie Lyn Huskamp . . .
An original framed collage by Tracie . . .
And a gorgeous art quilt by the lovely Teresa McFayden with a special message . . .
Sending love your way today,
Rebecca

I have an email from a Haitian pastor whose grown sons were smashed by a wave up against their building and almost drowned. He said their food supplies were all soaked and ruined.
I do have some craft supplies for you and have waited for reading glasses which have never come :(
I'll wait a couple more days...
