Handmade Quilt by Quilt Artist Susan Clayton
Hope of Spring is an image of a winter tree with ghost quilting showing the limbs in full leaf. The quilt was made for a special show and was exhibited in New Smyrna Beach Florida in 2007. It is made from a variety of fabrics and the leaves are wired so when displayed they can be adjusted to show the backs as well. Lifting one of the leaves reveals the artist's stitched signature. It is densely quilted and has a hand stitched binding. Quilt measures 36" tall x 29" wide and has a hanging sleeve attached.
